Capella [alAur], amazing ability to perform physical activity intelligently

Capella [Alfa Aurigae, alAur, α Aur] is the brightest star in the constellation Auriga (the Charioteer), with a visual magnitude of +0,08. It is located at a distance of 43 light years from the solar system.

The traditional name 'Capella' comes from Latin and means 'goat (small or young)', and is the origin of the Roman myth of the goat Amalthea that suckled Zeus. In Arabic it was known as 'Alhajoth', which means 'the goat', and also 'Al Rakib', which means 'the driver', because in the sunsets, during the twilight lights, it was the first star to be seen, of all those around her. In Ancient Mesopotamia it was known as 'Dil-gan I-ku', which means 'the messenger of light', as well as 'Dil-gan Babill', which means 'the honorific star of Babylon'. In Hindu mythology, Capella symbolized the heart of Brahmā: 'Brahma Ridaya'
.

Capella is a orange bright gigant star of spectral type K0 III, with a surface temperature of 4970 K.

It is a system formed by 2 components (Aa, K0 III; Ab, G3 III), which are orbited by two others (H, M2 V; L, M4), much smaller.

Photometric observations were carried out in the years 1896-1897, 1899, 1914, 1919-1920, 1936, 1962-1963, 1974-1975, 1984, 1994-1995, 2003, 2011 y 2015.

Position in relation to the ecliptic:

  • Longitude:  82.1º (22º 8' Gemini)
  • Latitude:  22.9º (22º52' Aries; semioctile 22º30', 0º22' orb).

Position in relation to the celestial equator:

  • Right ascension:  79.2º (19º10' 3rd House; (hepta)cuartioctile@78º45', 0º25' orb; binovile 80º, 0º50' orb)
  • Declination:  46.0º (16º 0' 2nd House; semisquare 45º, 1º00' orb)

Capella is a star that reminds the quality of the planets Mercury and Mars, and also the astronomical centaurs. The symbolic image 'small or young goat' refers to the ingenuity and versatility with which it goes through all kinds of steep terrains (full of rocks, and with steep slopes or strong unevenness, making it difficult to access).

Capella is related with an amazing ability to perform physical activity intelligently.

"Captain America: The First Avenger" (2011)

Chris Evans, actor of the movie "Captain America: The First Avenger" (2011), has Capella in Gemini (2nd Moon-Node House), in trine with Pluto-Juno (9th Moon-Node House); and in conjunction with the Sun, which is in opposition to Neptune.

Mel Gibson, actor of the movie "Braveheart" (1995), has Capella in Gemini (6th Moon-Node House), in opposition to the Black Moon-Juno in Sagittarius (12th Moon-Node House); and in quincunx with Pallas in Capricorn (11th Moon-Node House).
