Tureis [rhPup], amazing capacity to advance in the direction of personal ideals

Tureis [Rho Puppis, rhPup, ρ Pup] is the 2nd brightest star in the constellation Puppis (the Stern), with a visual magnitude of +2.83.

The name Tureis derives from the Arabic and refers to the logo, small shield or ornate aplustre in the stern of the boats.

It is located at a distance of 63 light years from the solar system. It has a surface temperature of 6920 K. The metallicity of Tureis is more than twice that of the Sun. This star also emits very high levels of infrared radiation, which suggests the existence of a disk of dust orbiting the star, probably at about 50 AU.

In 1956 its variability was verified by observations taken after 1946. Photometric observations were also carried out in September 1991, November 1997, January 2005, June 2009, February 2012 and February 2017.

It is located in the longitude 131.7º (11º40' Leo; cuadrioncile 130º55', orb 0º45 '), and latitude -43.3º (16º44' Aquarius; (tri)quinvigintil@43º12', orb 0º04').

And in the right ascension 121.9º (1º53' 5th House, trine 120º, orb 1º53') and declination -24.3º (5º42' 12th House, quindecile 24º, orb 0º18').

The star Tureis remembers the Sun and the Moon. It is related with an amazing capacity to advance in the direction of personal ideals, taking concrete and coherent steps in daily life, instead of simply formulating personal goals.

Ryan Reynolds, actor of the movies "Just Friends" (2005) and "The Proposition" (2009), has Tureis in Leo (3rd Moon-Node House), in trine with Neptune in Sagittarius (11 th Moon-Node-House), and in sextile with Pluto (1st Moon-Node House).
