Vega [alLyr], amazing ability to transmit feeling and generate exaltation

Vega [Alfa Lyrae, alLyr, α Lyr] is the brightest star in the constellation Lyra (the Lyre), with a visual magnitude of +0,03. It is located at a distance of 25 light years from the solar system.

The traditional name Vega derives from the Arabic word 'wāqi', meaning 'falling' or 'landing', it was known as' An-Nasr Al-Wāqi ', which was translated into Latin as 'Vultur Cadens', meaning 'the falling/perch of the eagle/vulture'.

In Babylonian astronomy, Vega may have been one of the stars called 'Dilgan', which means 'messenger of light'; the Assyrians called it 'Dayan-Equal', which means 'judge of heaven'; and the Acadians called it 'Tir-Anna', which means 'life from heaven'.

Vega is a star of the main sequence, white with bluish shades, of spectral type A0V and surface temperature 9600 K. It is fusing hydrogen and forming helium in its nucleus. It has a very high rotation speed (274 km/s).

Observations in the years 2001, 2006 and 2011 revealed the existence of an inner dust band around Vega at a distance of less than 8 AU, which could indicate the existence of a planetary system.

The photography of celestial objects (astrophotography) began in 1840 when the image of the Moon was captured for the first time. In 1850, Vega became the first star (apart from the Sun) to be photographed; It was also the first star to which the spectrum was photographed, showing in 1872 the absorption lines. In 1879, photographs of Vega's spectrum and similar stars were used to identify a set of twelve "very strong lines" that were common to this star category.

  • Latitude:  61.7º ( 1º44' Gemini; (onci)octaoctile@61º52', 0º08' orb; sextile 60º [=trine 120º > 0º Libra/Aquarius], 1º44' orb).
  • Right ascension: 279.2º ( 9º14' 10th House; binovile 80º, 0º46' orb)
  • Declination:  38.8º ( 8º47' 2nd House)

Vega is a star that reminds the quality of the planets Venus, Jupiter, Neptune and the dwarf planet (136199) Eris. The symbolic image 'the falling/perch of the eagle/vulture' refers to the concept of 'leitmotiv', a melody or fundamental idea of a musical composition that is repeated and developed in different ways along the composition. In operas or in movie soundtracks they are melodies or short musical phrases that are repeated every time a person, place or fundamental idea of the story appears.

Vega is related with an amazing ability to transmit feeling and generate exaltation. Its maximum expression occurs in the field of musical composition, especially in movies soundtracks.

Soundtrack of the movie "The Island"
(Steve Jablonsky, 2005)

John Williams, composer of the soundtrack of the movies "Jaws" (1975), "Star Wars" (1977), "Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark" (1981) and "Jurassic Park" (1993), has Vega in Capricorn (3rd Moon-Node House) in quintile with the Lunar Node in Piscis (cusp of the 1st Moon-Node House), which is in conjunction with Venus; and in undecile with Mars in Aquarius (2nd Moon-Node House), which is in conjunction with the Sun and in opposition to Jupiter.

Steve Jablonsky, composer of the soundtrack of the movies "The Island" (2005), "Transformers" (2007) and "Friday the 13th" (2009), has Vega in Capricorn (2nd Moon-Node House) in trine/sextile with the Crossing Axis of Age Progressions (Signs Horoscope); and in septile with Venus in Scorpio (4th Moon-Node House). [Sulafat is in Capricorn (2nd Moon-Node House) in trine with Saturn in Taurus (10th Moon-Node House), which is in opposition to Venus in Scorpio (4h Moon-Node House)].
