Sirius [alCMa], amazing ability to discover shortcuts and initiate original or advantageous routes

Sirius [Alfa Canis Majoris, alCMa, α CMa] is the brightest star in the constellation Canis Major (the Great Dog), with a visual magnitude of -1,44. It is located at a distance of 9 light years from the solar system.

The name of the star Sirius comes from the Latin 'Sīriŭs', which comes from the Ancient Greek Σείριος (Seirios), and it may have originated in even older cultures. In Arabic, it is known as الشِّعْرَى, meaning 'the leader'. In Sanskrit, its name was 'Mrgavyadha', meaning 'deer hunter', or 'Lubdhaka', which simply means 'hunter'. In China, it was known as the 'celestial wolf' and was also associated with bows and arrows, while many indigenous peoples of North America associated it with dogs, wolves, and coyotes. In Egypt, it was linked to the beginning of the annual Nile River flood season.

Sirius is a white main sequence dwarf star of spectral type A1 V, with a surface temperature of 9940 K. It has a rotation speed of 16 km/s.

It is a system formed by 2 components.

Photometric observations were carried out in the years 1761, 1839, 1840, 1844, 1877, Dic 1915, 1958, 1984, Nov 1985, Ene 1987, 1992, Abr 1993, 1995, 1999, 2000, Jul 2005, Oct 2008, 1991, 2001, 2003, 2005, Ago 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017.

Position in relation to the ecliptic:

  • Longitude: 103.8º (13º46' Cancer; (bi)septile 102º51' [3rd ray, yellow], 0º55' orb)
  • Latitude: -39.6º (20º24' Aquarius; novile 40º, 0º24' orb).

Position in relation to the celestial equator:

  • Right ascension: 101.0º (11º 2' 4th House; (hepta)quinvigintile@100º48', 0º14' orb; (nona)cuartioctile@101º15', 0º13' orb)
  • Declination: -16.7º (13º19' 12th House)

The star Sirius reminds the qualities of the Moon and the planet Uranus. During the Nile's flood season, paths and crossings were erased and redefined annually. The symbolic image of 'dog' refers to the ability to move freely, following olfactory impulses. The symbolic image of 'deer hunter' refers to the ability to follow random (unusual) routes, while the image of 'bows and arrows' refers to the ability to initiate swift and discreet movement in a consciously chosen direction. The symbolic image of 'leader' refers to the guiding figure who goes ahead, followed by a group.

The star Sirius is associated with an amazing ability to discover shortcuts and initiate original or advantageous routes for various reasons.

Michael Jordan, basketball player, has Sirius in Cancer in the Ascendant of the House Horoscope (1st Moon-Node House), in opposition to Venus in Capricorn (7th Moon-Node House).

Kevin Bacon, actor from the movie "The River Wild" (1994), has Sirius in Cancer (4th Moon-Node House) at the crossing point of his age progressions (Signs Horoscope); in conjunction with the Sun, which is in square to the Black Moon in Aries (7th Moon-Node House).

Hayden Christensen, actor from the movie "Jumper" (2008), has Sirius in Cancer (1st Moon-Node House) in novile@40° with the Crossing Point of Age Progressions (Signs Horoscope) in Gemini (3rd Moon-Node House), which is in conjunction with the asteroid Pallas.
