Polaris [alUMi], ability to work under a lot of pressure

Polaris [Alfa Ursae Minoris, alUMi, α UMi] is the brightest star in the constellation Ursa Minor (The Little Bear). It is a yellow supergiant of spectral type F7Ib-II3, with a luminosity 2440 times greater than that of the Sun and a radius 37 times greater than that of the Sun. It has an apparent magnitude of +1.97 and it is located at 431 light years from the Solar System.

Polaris is a multiple star system with two other stars much smaller. The most distant one, which orbits at about 2400 AU, was discovered in August 1779; while the nearest one, which orbits at about 17 AU, was discovered in 1929.

In 1911 it was confirmed that Polaris has complex variations in its brightness, something that was already suspected since 1852. In addition, in 2004 it was shown that its brightness is now 2.5 times higher than during the observations of Potolomy.

It has a declination of +89º (square) and it is located at the degree 28º of Gemini (+66º of celestial latitude).

The modern name of Polaris appeared during the Renaissance era, it is an abbreviation of 'Stella Polaris', which in Latin means 'Polar Star'.

The quality of the star Polaris reminds to our Sun and the planet Saturn. It is related with the ability to work under a lot of pressure, so that, as far as possible, the ongoing activities can be carried out with relative normality, in spite of the fact that the strain of the situation is extraordinary, like in the movie "Crimson Tide" (1995) and at the end of the movie "The Sum of All Fears" (2002). Also, extraordinary efforts can be done, like at the end of the movie "Jumper" (2008).

"Terminator 5 - Genisys" (2015)

Tracy Marks, author of the book "Planetary Aspects: An Astrological Guide to Managing the T-Square", has Polaris in Gemini on the cusp of the 10th Moon-Node House, in square with the Crossing Points of the Age Progressions (Signs Horoscope / Moon-Node Horoscope), and in trine with Jupiter in Aquarius in the 2nd Moon-Node House.

Keanu Reeves, actor of the movie "Speed" (1994), has Polaris in the Ascendant of the Moon-Node Horoscope (with Saturn in the cusp of the 5th Moon-Node House).

Jeremy Renner, actor of the movie "The Hurt Locker" (2008), has Polaris in Gemini (overlap zone of the 8th-9 th Moon-Node Houses), in opposition to Mercury in Sagittarius (overlap zone of 2nd-3rd Moon-Node Houses), and in quincunx with Jupiter in Scorpio (overlap zone of 3rd-4th Moon-Node Houses).

Akira Toriyama, author of the manga "Dragon Ball" (1984), has Polaris at the Descendant of the Moon-Node Horoscope.
